Of the new movies set to open in January, one in particular seems to be generating a lot of interest. Watch The Book of Eli online to see why. Whether it’s due to the big name cast or the high action level, the two elements alone might be enough to make it worth seeing.
To most people, the most familiar face in the cast will be Denzel Washington. Watch The Book of Eli online to see him in the first film to come out sans the 40 lbs. he put on for his role in The Taking of Pelham 123, released earlier this year. Washington’s role as Eli is quite a jump from the Pelham role. Watch The Book of Eli online and see some intense fight scenes, all apparently done by Washington without a stunt double. The plot centers on the book Eli is carrying. When you watch The Book of Eli online, you’ll see a quick flash showing that at least part of the book is Genesis, the first book of the Bible.
Gary Oldman is another recognizable face in this film. Most will remember him as Commissioner Gordon in the Batman films. Oldman’s character, Carnegie, wants the book, though it’s not clear when you watch The Book of Eli online why he wants it. Whatever the reason may be, when you get the “crazy evil” Oldman in a film, like in this one, you can bet there will be trouble.
You’ll also see another favorite, Mila Kunis, when you watch The Book of Eli online. Best known as Jackie from That 70’s Show, she was also in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. You can’t really tell simply by watching The Book of Eli online, but she plays the daughter of Oldman and Jennifer Beals, still another movie face from the past.
Names alone, though, do not make a good movie. Neither do great fight scenes. Not much is being said about the plot, other than what you can deduct when you watch The Book of Eli online. You’ll have to take your chances on this one, but if you’re already a fan of one of the notables mentioned above, how can you really lose?
